How it works
Take over the position. Finish the game.
Choose the opponent, take over the winning side, and play a new continuation until the game is finished.
What is Conversion Tower?
Conversion Tower is a winning position trainer. It lets you take over a real position from a professional chess game, play a new continuation against Stockfish, and prove that you can convert the advantage into a victory.
The run
- Choose a Stockfish strength: Easy (800), Medium (1400), Hard (2000), or Elite (2400).
- Receive a winning position extracted from a real professional game.
- See the player whose side you take over. When reliable source data exists, the briefing also shows the opponent, event, date, and controlled side.
- Play your own new continuation against Stockfish. There is no single required move or predetermined line.
- Win the complete game to advance to the next position-advantage bucket.
- A loss, draw, resignation, timeout, or loss of winning material consumes a life.
Position advantage and opponent strength
Buckets represent initial advantages that become harder to convert, from Mate 1, Mate 2, and Mate 3 through +10 down to +1. Stockfish strength represents the resistance of the opponent and is selected independently.
The tower shows progress through the run. It does not define the purpose of the training: converting a winning chess position does.
